24-hour fundraiser with 43 nonprofits from Montara to Pescadero will fund vital programs

April 11th, 2019 - Half Moon Bay, CA - Mavericks Community Foundation (MCF) announces their annual Coastside Gives online fundraiser, to be held on May 2nd, 2019. Coastside Gives hopes to generate more than $500,000 in funds that will go directly to the 43 participating nonprofits located on the San Mateo County Coast between Montara and Pescadero. Participating nonprofits provide services in a wide range of sectors including education, art, agriculture, safety net, literacy, and inclusive community development.

MCF was inspired by the success of East Bay Gives and Silicon Valley Gives and the collaborative fundraising efforts they created locally, and as a result, launched Coastside Gives in 2017. Mavericks Community Foundation gratefully acknowledges the continued support of local foundations, businesses, and donors, who have helped make Coastside Gives possible.

The goal of Coastside Gives is to rally the community and nonprofit supporters to donate online in a 24-hour period at www.coastsidegives.org on May 2nd, 2019. Those who are interested in donating but unavailable on May 2nd are able to “schedule” their donation beginning Thursday, April 4th, 2019. The nonprofits are also eligible for grants based on categories such as most funds raised or most donors in a particular hour, thanks in part to a generous group of community residents, businesses, and foundations.

Coastside Gives will host a giving day table on May 2nd at the New Leaf Community Market in Half Moon Bay, where residents can learn about the work that the nonprofits do, and donate to support their programs. You can also find out more information at the Coastside Farmers Market in Half Moon Bay on April 20th and 27th.
